Chaliceroot Philosophy

The chaliceroot philosophy begins by acknowledging you with respect to your views of life, change, healing and transcendence. Wherever you are is the place that we begin.

We understand that, for many of you, the information contained in this website may offer confirmation of what has been on the periphery of your awareness. For others of you, this information may present challenges to your existing point of view. If you discover that the information, concepts and models presented in chaliceroot are not making sense to you or you are feeling agitated … stop. Make a note of what you don't understand. Then go to the forum, log-in and write your question in the chaliceroot website category under Q&A. You can also check in the resources/glossary section for in depth works or to clarify definitions.

Perhaps you are familiar with Christian de Quincy's book, “Radical Nature.” If so, you might remember reading that consciousness and energy are two sides of the same coin. Consciousness knows and energy flows. These two concepts directly relate to my work as an energy medicine practitioner. Consciousness is the awareness of information. Information is more than facts. It contains patterns, feelings, intuitive understandings and any perceptions of the inner or outer world. Energy is the life force. In the Chinese model energy is called chi. Energy is like water; it moves, it holds things, it supports life, it dissolves things and it can get frozen or stuck. For optimum health all the energy systems in the larger energy field need to be in harmony.

I am trained in energetic healing and subscribe to an energetic model (a model is a working example of a philosophy, or a philosophy in action). This energetic model describes an “energy field”. The energy field gathers, contains, generates and transmits information. It resonates, is affected by and affects the larger fields that it is nested in. Each living organism has its own energy field permeating it and surrounding it. I work with energy fields. There are physical, emotional, mental and spiritual layers of the energy field. (Barbara Brennan describes this in an elegant way - the human consciousness energy field.) When a client comes to see me, I am viewing them through the lens of this energetic model. l am working with them on all layers of their energy field.

I use subtle sense perception to understand and work with my client's consciousness in the form of their held beliefs. Held beliefs are belief systems that may have worked at some time in the past but are now unconscious and are no longer in the best interest of the individual or the larger energy field. I'm also trained to perceive and work with the energy component, (which appears in the form of blockages). While I can now differentiate belief systems from the energy that holds them in place; I never work on one without the other. They are two sides of the same coin.

I also consider myself an integral healer. Integral healing is a model of healing which acknowledges the importance of the practitioner's level of consciousness within the healing dyad. The practitioner is the vessel through which information and energy flow. The clearer the practitioner's awareness, the more he/she is able to interface with and understand the client's consciousness and energy field. Clear awareness develops as a result of the amount of personal work the healing practitioner has done in conjunction with his/her level of consciousness. As practitioners heal themselves, they access deeper levels of listening and sensing. (To clarify, if the practitioner has an unresolved grief issue held in his/her unconsciousness, the practitioner may not be able to allow the client to release his/her own grief for fear that it will trigger the practitioner's own. This happens without any conscious awareness on the practitioner's part.) An “integral” healer's skill is directly affected by their level of consciousness. (For more information on levels of consciousness please see Ken Wilber's CD collection, “Kosmos”, or go to his website at www.integralnaked.org and listen to a streaming audio conversation between him and Alan Wallace on 2/27/05.If you would like more information on integral healing please refer to Wilber's conversation with Barbara Dossey on 2/9/04.)

Let's do an exercise. Slowly read the next two sentences. 1) I am cosmic intelligence expressed in human form. 2) I am intimately connected within a larger field of cosmic intelligence. Stop. Notice any conflicting beliefs. How do these conflicting beliefs function? Do they readily allow you to contemplate or engage in new possibilities? Probably not. …Conflicting beliefs can keep you stuck.

Conflicting beliefs can also serve to illuminate the parts of your belief system that are not aligned with the new possibilities. In this exercise, your conflicting beliefs are directing you to your blind spots, those places in your consciousness stream that have been on the periphery of your awareness. Assume, for this exercise, that you want to engage in the new possibilities offered above. You want to create and hold these new beliefs. How do you pro-actively change your old beliefs?

There are as many models to help you pro-actively change your beliefs as there are ways up a mountain. Chaliceroot is a philosophy. It offers a pathway that you can use to identify and change the beliefs that no longer serve you. It encourages you to explore, discover and manifest your unique essence in whatever you do.

The intention of chaliceroot is to offer a way to change your old beliefs and release the energetic patterns that hold them in place. This is done through education, training and personal healing sessions. Discussion groups offer support and encourage you on your journey. These activities create the foundation for you to experience and integrate change and healing.

The essence of chaliceroot is:

1) Activating change and healing.*
2) Moving the energy that holds the belief patterns in place.
3) Connecting you to your deep innate wisdom within the larger field of cosmic intelligence.
* (Healing as used here refers to the process of making whole through clearing your enculturated -familial, social and cultural- belief patterns.)

In the chaliceroot model, you work with experienced healers who have gone through the processes you are going through, each in their own way. Their experiences and training allow them to meet you where you are in order to facilitate you during your healing journey. These healers have developed the skills necessary to hold focused attention and to use subtle sense perception. This allows them to track, facilitate and support you as you move through your process. Healers offer a bridge from your current point of view into a larger viewpoint. An experienced healer embodies the ideal for change and healing to occur. He/She is a master of including the ordinary and cooking up transcendence.
